Role: Structural Designer

With a team of 3 other peers I created an operational drone prototype over the course of 8 hours. We were provided with a flight controller, motors, and propellers, but the rest of the design was up to us. My main contribution was designing the frame of the drone in Onshape which was then 3D printed out of carbon fiber PLA. The frame was designed to be strong, lightweight and modular with the holes in the center allowing for multiple mounting options for different electronic components. After presenting our drone to the judges, our team placed 2nd out of 8 teams serving as the culmination of a successful day of engineering, troubleshooting, and teamwork.
